We are a family run riding stables, established 20 years ago, open all year for hacking, tuition, livery and holidays. BHS approved and qualified friendly staff. All our horses and ponies are well schooled and we have a horse or pony to suit all abilities.

Croyde Bay is along the beautiful North Devon coast. Our hacks in the surrounding area have breath taking views of the sea and coastline. We are fortunate to be able to ride along Putsborough beach, 3 miles of golden sand to Woolacombe. There may be enough time for your new friend to dip their ‘hooves’ in the surf, an amazing experience for any horse lover!

All our horses graze as a ‘herd’ in the hills above Croyde. They enjoy lots of turnout and have days off. They are all well mannered, schooled regularly and many take part in local shows and dressage competitions very often coming home with rosettes! They all have their own personality and each one has a special place in our hearts.

Rides available

• ½ hour lead rein
• 1 hour hack for beginners and experienced riders
• 1 ½ hour hack
• 1 ½ beach ride
• 2 hour hack
• 2 hour beach and dunes ride
• Group or individual lessons in the outdoor arena

We cater for larger groups around 10-12 people dependant on heights of the riders, group discounts are available. Booking is essential and payment in full at time of booking is required.

Pony Days

Includes a 1 hour hack, ½ hr lesson, grooming, tack cleaning and stable management. Days last 9.30am – 4pm. Please bring a packed lunch. Hats are provided, footwear is also available.

Riding Holidays

3-5 days can be catered for. Days are 9am-5pm. Start the day catching your horse and bringing them in from the fields. Grooming and tacking up for your first ride. After lunch choose a hack or a lesson. Grooming, Tack cleaning and stable management is all included. End the day taking your horse back to the field for his nightly turnout. Programmes vary to suit your ability and are structured to be informative and fun. Please bring a packed lunch. Hats are provided. You may like to consider bringing a set of waterproofs, wellingtons and sun cream of course....!
